Poetry Recitation Competition
The recent poetry recitation competition revealed that one particular form has a special talent for recitation, as the winner and runners up all came from 7HES. The runners up were Avika and Saswathi. The winner was Ananyaa, who memorised and recited one of the most challenging and complex poems ever written, ‘The Windhover’, by Gerard Manley Hopkins. This poem is about a kestrel in flight, but also reflects on the surprising beauty that can often be found in quite ordinary things. It was a lovely and sensitive recitation.
