Thank You KPS

BookBuzz is a reading programme from BookTrust that aims to help schools inspire a love of reading in 11 to 13-year-olds.  Participating schools give their students the opportunity to choose their own book to take home and keep from a list of 17 titles. They are all carefully selected by a panel of experts to ensure quality, suitability and to encourage reading for pleasure. Every year at Kendrick the Kendrick Parents Society (KPS) supports this scheme and allows every one of our Year 7 students to choose a book to take home to keep.

The students have this opportunity during their Library Induction lessons that take place in September where they learn about the resources available to them and how to access the books and resources in our well-supported library.

The students work their way through an induction booklet during these lessons designed to take them to all corners of the library. The librarians look through the students work and a prize is awarded for the best booklets.

This year’s winners were Eshaal, Lulu and Mannat

The English staff and Librarians all enjoy these lessons and hope to inspire a love of our library as well as reading for study and pleasure.
