Cologne Christmas Market Trip

In early December, Year 11-13 students have the opportunity of going on a trip to Cologne, a beautiful city rich in culture and architecture. It is an action packed three days which never fails to delight and inspire those who take part. The students have the opportunity to buy wonderful gifts from the lively Christmas markets, which range from candles to handmade ornaments and personalised treats, as well as try a variety of German specialities such as ‘Reibekuchen’ and ‘Printen’. On the programme are also visits to the theatre, the cinema, Beethoven’s birthplace and museum in Bonn, as well as the essential stock up at the Haribo factory outlet! The group is accommodated on a half-board basis in a well-located youth hostel. This is always a popular trip on account of the benefits it offers on so many different levels.

“It was definitely an unforgettable experience for all of us, and made us more confident in speaking spontaneously, as well as leaving us with a suitcase full of Christmas treats!”  Year 12 student.
