    • Royal Air Squadron Trophy

      After months of preparation, the Air Squadron Trophy (AST) team, made up of a group of RAF Cadets from both Kendrick and Reading School, secured 3rd place nationally, competing against a multitude of schools all across the country. 

      The Royal Air Squadron Trophy, or RAST, is a competition where a group of 13 cadets, part of the Combined Cadet Forces, take part in a series of events, ranging from Drill to Air Rifle Shooting to First Aid. Reading School CCF have been taking part in these events for almost a decade, and we performed exceptionally this year, both in the regional and national competitions.

    • Mila Plays Bridge at House of Lords

      Mila really enjoyed her bridge match at the House of Lords. She is pictured playing against Lord Hamilton and Lord Razzall. Mila’s team won, which was an extra bonus! And they were the only team with state school students on it!

    • Light and Dark Creative Writing Anthology

      The latest school creative writing anthology, 'Light and Dark', was launched on Tuesday 30th June with a special event in the library featuring readings of students' stories. This anthology was produced by our student-led Creative Writing Society, led by a committed group of Year 10 students: Eshaal, Savni, Roberta, Yiwen, Noemi, Harleen and Megan, and supported by Dr Button. As well as writing their own stories, they have mentored younger writers, editing and giving feedback on their work, which has now been published in this beautifully designed anthology.

    • Pi Representation Competition 2026

      The Pi Representation Competition 2026 is a creative Maths competition hosted by Think Maths to celebrate Pi Day, which was on 14th March 2026.  Students are challenged to display the mathematical constant π (3.14159...) using creative formats rather than standard numbers. Submissions are made in mediums such as visual art, computer code, music, poetry, and textiles.

    • German MFL Trip 2026

      The MFL trip to Germany was such an amazing opportunity to meet local people and actually use the language in real life situations. I think it’s fair to say we all came home with memories we won’t forget anytime soon. We’re really grateful to the teachers who came with us for making the whole experience so special, and for giving us moments we’ll treasure. And of course, a huge shoutout to our brilliant coach driver, Hayden, who kindly drove us around Germany and immersed himself in the experience with us!

    • French MFL Trip 2026

      Day 1

      The first day of our MFL trip started promptly at 6:20am at Kendrick School, and early as it was, we were all extremely excited to embark on our journey to Rouen in France. After a long day of travelling, we arrived at the meeting point to meet with our host families! After a few hesitant greetings in French, we returned to our rooms, bubbling with excitement for the next day!

      In the last week of Term 5, 120 Year 8 students embarked on an unforgettable Bushcraft adventure, enjoying a residential trip packed with challenges, new experiences, and plenty of laughter. Set in a fantastic outdoor environment, students were encouraged to step away from screens, work together, and immerse themselves in the natural world.

    • The Greatest of all Greeks and the Greatest of all Work Experiences

      From the 8th to 12th of June, we were given the incredible opportunity to complete our Year 12 Work Experience placement at the Department of Classics at the University of Reading. We worked closely with Professor Emma Aston, Head of the Department, on a number of tasks, including proofreading academic articles – one about the cultic worship of the centaur Chiron in Thessaly and its epichoric and panhellenic influences, the other examining the dominance of Thessaly within the Amphictyony (a religious league between neighbouring tribes) between itself and Delphi – and writing a report on the Department's social media. However, our main project for the week was curating a temporary exhibit in collaboration with the Ure Museum (one of the largest collections of Greek ceramics in the UK) and Professor Amy Smith, its curator.

    • Earth Week 2026 at Kendrick

      Kendrick School Earth Week 2026 began with a bang on Monday 8th June, with the Eco Committee sharing sustainability hacks with students and staff through the daily bulletin. Did you know that you can recycle your toiletries through the Boots Recycling Scheme and receive a £5 voucher towards your next £10 purchase? More facts like this were shared throughout the week to encourage sustainability in everyday life and help reduce our throwaway culture and reliance on fast fashion.

    • Earth Week 2026

      Earth Week 2026 will be marked at Kendrick School from 8th to 12th June, which brings our school community together to celebrate sustainability, creativity, and positive action for the environment. Throughout the week, students will have the opportunity to take part in a range of activities, including Just Dance and an Eco Pledge, tote bag decoration, and bracelet making using donated beads and string.
