Berkshire Young Singer of the Year 2024 Finalist
We are delighted for Akshaya in Year 10, who has qualified for the finals of the Berkshire Young Singer of the Year 2024 competition. Here is what she's said about what she shas to do next:
"I am very happy to share the news that I have qualified for the finals of Berkshire Young Singer of the Year 2024, a county-wide singing competition which occurs once every two years. There are three categories, Folk, Classical and Musical theatre and I have made it to the finals in the Folk category.
The song I will be performing is the traditional Irish folk song ‘Tir Na Nog’, most famously performed by Celtic women. The participants of the finals have to send in a short biography about their musical experience so far and the winners of each category get their certificates presented to them by the Duke of Edinburgh.
The final takes place on Sunday 10th March at The Old Court in Windsor".
