Here is a summary of her experience, in Jessica's words:
'I would never have thought that the short animation, The Cooking Show, which I created with my friends and my sister, could be selected for the RA Young Artist's Summer Exhibition - and even win the 2024 President's Prize !
The four of us always play together, and we call ourselves the Lefroy Collective because we love creating fun and imaginative art as a team. The Cooking Show took us the whole afternoon and over 250 frames to complete. We hand-drew all the props and used a stop-motion app to animate them.
My mum loved it so much that she submitted it to the RA. A few weeks later, we received an email from the RA saying that they loved our film and that it would be shown in London over the summer at their exhibition.
We also received a £100 prize for art supplies. We were thrilled to see our animation in the show, and we feel even more inspired to keep creating art!'
