The 'Interschools Chess Tournament' was every two weeks, and much tougher, involving any school in the UK. The Kendrick team steadily improved their position, from 15th of the 35+ competing schools, to a final position of 6th in the last tournament. 

Well done to all who have taken part in these online tournaments – these require quick responses, sometimes with 10 or more matches played within the 1 hour allocated. Consistently good scores have come from Riya, Ananya, Nidhi, Chelsea, Nivi, Joanne and Arushi.

And to finish the year, a team took part in the Reading InterSchools Tournament, a six-round competition held at Blessed Hugh Faringdon School on Thursday 4th July. The team of 10 was Arushi, Saswathi, Joanne, Divija, Nivi, Shriya, Nidhi, Ananya, Riya and Sanvi . All played extremely well, with everyone winning more than half of their games, and 4 scored 5 wins out of the 6 rounds. Overall, the team came 2nd out of the 5 schools, only just behind Reading school.

Rachel Reeves, the new Chancellor, was a British Under-14 girls chess champion.
