Widening Horizons - Gold Award from Sutton Trust
We are delighted that Kendrick School has been awarded the Sutton Trust Fair School Admissions Award at Gold level. The Sutton Trust is an educational charity in the United Kingdom which aims to improve social mobility and address educational disadvantages. The top Gold level is awarded to schools who have made significant changes to their admissions policies to ensure that there is fair access to all pupils, regardless of socio-economic background.
Kendrick was recognised for the multiple systems we have in place to support access for children eligible for pupil premium funding within our Widening Horizons project. These include a lower admission score; our weekly Inspire Club where pupils are supported in their studies by senior Kendrick students in a fun and inspiring way; our Inspire bulletin packed with helpful information to aid learning; a free online package and provision of practice papers and a test familiarisation day in the summer holidays.
It is part of our aim here at Kendrick to ensure that all young people have access to the very best education we can provide.
