Welcome to

Kendrick School

Kendrick School is a high achieving selective school for girls aged 11 to 18 located in Reading, Berkshire. It is acknowledged as being amongst the very best state schools in the country.

In all its OFSTED inspections, Kendrick was judged an “outstanding” school.

The school is led by Headteacher, Ms Christine Kattirtzi.

"Pupils and sixth formers are justly proud of their school community. They delight in their learning and truly excel here. One parent spoke for many when reflecting, ‘The school does a great job of creating well-rounded, kind, human beings who will hopefully go on to make the world a better place. The academic results are important of course, but far from the only focus." Inspectors totally agree.

    Kendrick Student Leaders (KSL)

The 18 Kendrick Student Leaders, as they are now known as, make up four separate committees, elected by students and staff, to represent their school. The four committees are: Curriculum and Current Affairs Committee, Student Wellbeing Committee, Community Committee and House System Committee. These students undertake specific roles working with younger students in the school organising and supporting inter-year and interhouse events in school. The KSL has an important role in representing the school, both in school and at out of school events. They are excellent Ambassadors for the school.

    School Council

The School Council at Kendrick School is comprised of two student representatives from each form; six students in each year group from the Lower School and eight students from Year 10, all lead by a team of eight Year 11 students. New representatives are elected each year through a democratic voting system, following a speech that each candidate makes to her form about why they believe they are suitable for the role.

Our Wellbeing Ambassadors are students from Years 7-11 supported by the Kendrick Student Leaders Wellbeing Committee and the Wellbeing Mentors. Their role is to champion positive mental health and wellbeing across the whole school, share learning around mental health and promote the importance of self-care, to encourage others to talk and challenge their feelings about mental health, provide feedback on what is working well and highlight any gaps in how Kendrick School approaches wellbeing.

    Mathematics Teacher

I have been a Mathematics teacher at Kendrick Grammar School since September 2022. My time here has been incredibly rewarding, thanks to the school's supportive culture and commitment to both staff and student well-being.

The school's leadership actively engages with staff at all levels, fostering a sense of belonging and collaboration. Kendrick Grammar School values its employees, creating a work environment that encourages professional growth and a healthy work-life balance.

The students at Kendrick are enthusiastic learners who demonstrate respect and trust in their teachers. It's incredibly fulfilling to contribute to their academic and personal development.

The school's focus on staff well-being is evident in the systems and practices in place to manage workload and ensure a high quality of teaching and learning. I have had the opportunity to participate in professional development initiatives, which have further enhanced my teaching skills.

Working at Kendrick Grammar School has been a positive and enriching experience. I am grateful for the opportunity to be part of such a supportive and inspiring community.
