Teacher Training
We are delighted to be working with The National Maths and Physics School Centred Initial Teacher Training programme (NMAPS), a new DfE initiative designed give Mathematics and Physics trainees the best experience during their ITT. Training will be based in school with bespoke subject specialist training programmes, delivered by outstanding practitioners and in conjunction with national subject associations. On successful completion of the programme, trainees will be awarded both QTS and PGCE.
Kendrick School will be offering a non-salaried training place with NMAPS in Maths and Physics for which DfE bursaries are available. We will be delighted to receive applications via the NMAPS Central Hub. For more information about the courses please visit www.nmapscitt.org.uk All applications must be made via UCAS at www.ucas.com

"I have really enjoyed my PGCE placement at Kendrick School! The staff have been incredibly supportive and the pupils are very polite and friendly. As a trainee teacher, I spent a lot of time planning lessons and activities to inspire pupils. It is lovely that this work is appreciated by the pupils who are always eager to try out new activities. This passion and dedication from the pupils has encouraged me to do my best as their teacher. My mentor has helped me throughout the year. For example, by checking over my lesson plans, giving me constructive feedback after each lesson and encouraging me to share my experiences in Department Meetings. I have always felt valued and supported by all members of staff. I would highly recommend Kendrick School as a fantastic place to learn to teach! There is a friendly, supportive atmosphere and school life is driven by the desire for everyone to succeed". Vicky Fowler, PGCE Student, 2017-18
"When I received the information that I would be completing my teacher training at Kendrick School, I was at first rather daunted and nervous by the prospect. The high achieving school would be without doubt a challenge for any first time teacher. I can say now, that after the ten months I spent at Kendrick, my knowledge and understanding of teaching has increased dramatically due to the incredible support of all of the staff around me combined with the tremendous drive and outstanding attitude from all of the students that I encountered during my time there. Everyone at Kendrick School has helped to shape me into the teacher I am today". Nick Jones, PGCE Student, 2017-18
