Graded ‘Outstanding’ in its recent OFSTED inspection, Kendrick School is a centre of academic excellence with a track record of high performance and achievement.  These high standards are extended to our school site, and we are looking for a hardworking and enthusiastic School Caretaker/Site Assistant to work as part of the Premises Team to ensure these standards are maintained.

Joining us in August j2024, the successful candidate’s role would involve general caretaking duties, working as part of a team to ensure the security, safety, cleanliness and general maintenance of the school site.  The ability to work flexible hours to cover sickness and holiday is desirable.

We are looking for someone who has good practical skills and/or maintenance experience and who takes pride in their work. You must be reliable, flexible in your approach and enjoy working as part of a team, but also be able to work on your own initiative. Previous school caretaking experience is desirable but not essential, and full training would be given.

This role would also work as a temporary position for an individual who is planning a gap year before university or employment.

CAREERS COORDINATOR 

15 HOURS A WEEK: TERM TIME ONLY
£8,099pa-£8,806pa (FTE £23,893pa-£25,979pa)

An exciting and unique opportunity has arisen for a Careers Coordinator to join us in September 2024.  The role is for 15 hours a week, which can be worked flexibly in school and at home, term time only.

The successful candidate will liaise with our external provider of careers guidance, coordinating students, staff, and resources for each careers event, service and activity planned for the academic year. The postholder would also re-energise our alumnae programme and establish contacts within our community to support our careers and work-related learning commitment.

The successful candidate must be professional, self-motivated, proactive and have established administration and organisational skills. They must have excellent written, verbal and presentation skills and the ability to communicate effectively with staff, students, parents, employers and careers professionals. Experience of working in careers guidance would be an advantage but not essential as training will be given. The opportunity to achieve a qualification in Careers Advice and Guidance is a possibility for the right applicant.

MUSIC AND DRAMA TECHNICIAN 

10-15 HOURS A WEEK

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic Music and Drama Technician to join us in September 2024.

The successful candidate will provide technical, administrative and operational support to the Music and Drama Department during the school day and at after school productions and events. The role would include setting up and maintaining equipment and resources ready for practical lessons, helping students access equipment, resources and specialist software and assist the smooth running of performances, events and workshops.

Experience as a Technician is not essential, but applicants must have a passion for music and drama, be able to read music, and welcome becoming part of an experienced team dedicated to the creative education of young people. An A Level or BTEC Level 3 in Music Technology and/or experience of lighting and sound for performances is desirable but not essential.

The successful candidates will enjoy working as part of a team and in a school community and should be capable of working with the minimum of supervision. The 10-15 hours would be worked over a week to fit timings of lessons and extra-curricular activities, such as concerts and drama productions.
