  • School Fund

A school fund is maintained by voluntary contributions from the parents/carers of students. Its purpose is to provide an additional source of funding for the provision of facilities and educational resources for the benefit of students. We use our School Fund to support so many activities in and out of school that have now become essential to school life.

School funds provides resources and opportunities that enhance the students’ experience of educational, cultural and sporting activities and extends their skills, abilities and view of the world, well beyond the classroom.  For example the school mini bus, travel and transport subsidies, coaches for PE activities, on site and elsewhere, Music Tutors for extracurricular ensembles, additional equipment in Technology, additional enhanced IT provision, subsidies for school trips, support for families who cannot afford essential trips, the Counselling Service, courses and one off conferences for groups of students to attend, etc. In more recent years, the school fund has provided valuable capital donations to support the enhancement and development of the school site and facilities, which DfE capital grants alone cannot sustain.

Without your school fund contributions, many essential elements and activities in the school would not be viable and the experience of students on a daily basis would be adversely affected.

All your donations, no matter how big or small, are much appreciated and invaluable to us. The amount we suggest for school fund contributions is £250 per year. If you choose to donate by standing order, please print and complete the Standing Order form below and return the whole form to your bank or building society. Alternatively you may send your form to the school either by post or as an attachment to finance@kendrick.reading.sch.uk and we will forward it to your bank.

    Matched Giving

Many companies help charities through a matched giving scheme. Some will match pound for pound, and others will double match any donations which its employees make to registered charities. Please check with your Payroll or HR department as to whether your company do operate such a scheme as this could make your donation worth even more.

    Payroll Giving

Under the Payroll Giving Scheme, employees can authorise their employer to deduct charitable donations from their pay before calculating Pay As You Earn tax. This means that the employee automatically gets tax relief on donations at his or her top rate of tax. There is no limit on the amount that can be given under the scheme. To find out more about Payroll Giving and if your company operates the scheme, please contact your human resources department.
