  • Physics Teacher (maternity leave)

Required for September 2025 on a one year contract to cover a maternity leave

Experienced and Early Careers Teachers welcome to apply.

This is an excellent opportunity for a well-qualified, enthusiastic Physics Teacher to join a successful 11-18 girls’ grammar school in Reading. Graded ‘Outstanding’ in all its OFSTED inspections, Kendrick School is a centre of academic excellence with a track record of high performance and achievement.

Applicants need to be able to teach Physics throughout the school including A Level, and Science at KS3. The ability to teach a second Science subject at KS4 would be valuable, but not essential. Kendrick School is a centre of academic excellence with a track record of high performance and achievement. There are large numbers of students who study Physics at A Level with many students going on to study Physic related subjects at university.

This position would suit a recently qualified teacher or more experienced teacher who is able to impart passion and enthusiasm for the subject to highly motivated, creative and engaging students. Kendrick School has a very good track record of developing ECTs and the successful candidate would be joining a supportive and experienced department. Sponsorship is available but applicants would be expected to have knowledge of GCSE and A Level education system.

The recent Ofsted report, November 2022 stated:

“Pupils’ behaviour is exemplary both in lessons and around the school. They respect and exemplify the values within the school pledge. Pupils love being here. Attendance is high, pupils are punctual, and lessons are free from any low-level disruption”.

Kendrick School is a welcoming, inclusive and happy community.  Benefits include a free Employee Assistance Programme, car parking, a contributory pension scheme, training and development and use of the swimming pool and sporting facilities.
